Regional businesses across NSW are being encouraged to register for Ready for Renewables: Business Workshops, a series of free, one-day sessions designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) compete for work on renewable energy projects.
Delivered by EnergyCo in partnership with the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), the workshops will run across the Hunter Central Coast and New England Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) in November.
The sessions will provide practical procurement insights, showing participants how tenders for large-scale renewable energy projects are assessed and how to prepare professional submissions. Each workshop includes hands-on activities and networking opportunities with project developers, industry advisers and other regional businesses.
“Renewable energy development isn’t just about keeping the lights on, it’s about creating real, sustainable opportunities for businesses in regional NSW,” EnergyCo’s Director of Regional Coordination Darren Clarke said.
“These workshops are designed to ensure regional local businesses have the tools and connections they need to compete and succeed.”
Participants will also learn how to use the Industry Capability Network (ICN) Gateway and its dedicated REZ pages, which connect buyers and suppliers across NSW’s renewable energy zones. This platform helps local companies identify work packages, strengthen regional supply chains and support local jobs as the energy transition progresses.
Ninety-eight per cent of past participants said they would recommend the workshops to other SMEs, describing them as highly practical and relevant to real project opportunities.
