Early ticket sales for HunterNet Co-operative’s International Women’s Day 2026 Luncheon indicate strong interest from across industry, with organisers advising that places are already filling quickly. The event will take place on Friday 6 March 2026 at the Merewether Surfhouse and will run from midday to 3:00 pm.
The luncheon is being delivered by HunterNet as part of its ongoing focus on workforce development, inclusion and industry-led collaboration.
Framing gender equality through action
The 2026 luncheon is aligned with the International Women’s Day theme Give To Gain – When We Give, We All Rise, which frames gender equality as the result of deliberate action rather than passive intent. HunterNet describes the theme as a call for organisations and individuals to contribute time, opportunity, advocacy and support in ways that generate shared outcomes.
In announcing the event, HunterNet stated: “It’s a reminder that progress toward gender equality doesn’t happen by chance. It happens when we actively give our time, advocacy, opportunity, mentoring and support – and when we do, the return is shared by all.”
Apprentices and leaders sharing lived experience
A central feature of the luncheon will be HunterNet’s Career Connections female Apprentice and Trainee Panel, alongside female leaders working across industry. Speakers will share personal experiences of building careers and leading teams within environments that have traditionally been male-dominated.
HunterNet says the panel format allows early-career voices and established leaders to be heard in the same forum, linking lived experience with decision-making roles across industry. According to the event material, the discussion will explore how access to opportunity and belief can shape individual careers and contribute to more resilient workplaces.
Event details and participation
The luncheon includes a two-course meal and refreshments and will be held at Merewether Surfhouse. Ticket pricing is set at $160 for HunterNet members and $180 for non-members, with tables of eight available for member organisations. An exclusive event sponsorship option is also available.
HunterNet encourages organisations and individuals with an interest in inclusive workplaces and workforce development to attend, noting that the event is expected to sell out ahead of March.
