New.E has announced its support for EnergyFest 2025, confirming its sponsorship of the event as part of its commitment to Australia’s renewable energy future and emerging talent in the sector.
The flagship event, EnergyFest: Industry will be held in Melbourne from 22–23 October 2025, with a format that moves away from the structure of traditional conferences. The event will bring together energy professionals, investors, government representatives, academics, and innovators in a setting designed to encourage open conversation, collaboration, and practical engagement.
Across the two days, attendees will hear from a broad mix of contributors, with opportunities for discussion, informal networking, and hands-on demonstrations of technology already reshaping the energy landscape. Renewable sources such as wind, solar and hydro-electricity will be joined by new tech, including electric vehicles and solar-powered batteries.
The event includes a screening of Planet Sun, a documentary produced by EnergyFest founder Andy Evans. The film will premiere at the Capitol Theatre at 5pm on 22 October.
EnergyFest was founded by Evans after more than two decades in the energy sector, including his work in onshore and offshore wind. He is now focused on the decarbonisation of transport and maritime industries. His goal for the event is to bring the current drivers of the energy transition together with the people who will take it further.

The Industry event is part of a wider series that includes Energyfest NEXTGen gatherings held at Australian universities. These one-day events are aimed at early-career professionals and students, providing a space to explore the current shape of the sector and how it might evolve. In 2025, NEXTGen events are scheduled for Melbourne (24 October), Wollongong and Newcastle. More details are to come regarding the latter two events.
Evans sees these events as essential in ensuring that the people who will shape the energy sector in years to come are engaged today.
