Founded in 2019 after more than a decade of materials science research at the University of Newcastle, MGA Thermal is an Australian clean energy innovator delivering next generation latent heat Thermal Energy Storage. Our proprietary Miscibility Gap Alloy (MGA) Blocks store intermittent renewable electricity as heat, delivering continuous, low cost, industrial grade steam 24/7.

Strong Momentum.
In partnership with Knode, MGA Thermal has commenced Front-Engineering and Design (FEED) for Australia’s largest industrial thermal storage project: a 195 MWh flagship installation in Kwinana. This follows the successful launch of our 5 MWh demonstration unit in April 2025, proving commercial readiness. These milestones build on strong momentum, including a $17 million capital raise in March 2026 and a $3.25 million ARENA grant supporting five additional FEED studies nationwide.
