Solar and battery installers across the wider Hunter area will have the chance to earn CPD points, update their technical knowledge and connect with peers when the Smart Installer Roadshow arrives in March 2026.
Hosted by the Smart Energy Council, the free evening event will be held on Thursday 12 March 2026 from 2:30pm to 7:30pm at Club Macquarie in Argenton, with dinner and drinks provided and parking available onsite.
The Roadshow is designed to deliver practical value in a short time, bringing together accredited training, industry updates and installer networking in a single session.
What the Roadshow covers
The Roadshow event will focus on issues installers are already navigating on site and in compliance processes, including emerging energy storage safety standards and changes that may affect solar panel stewardship, recycling and reuse.
Attendees can earn CPD points on the day while engaging directly with peers, product specialists and industry representatives. The format is aimed at installers who want relevant information without committing to multi-day courses or time away from work.
The Smart Energy Council describes the Roadshows as a way to keep installers informed while supporting consistent installation quality and safety across the sector.
Who the event is for
The Roadshow is open to a broad cross-section of the clean energy workforce, including:
- Solar and battery installers
- Electrical contractors
- Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs)
- Industry professionals seeking CPD accreditation
By bringing these groups together, the session also creates space for shared discussion on how standards and network requirements affect real-world installations.
The Smart Installer Roadshows run nationally, with Sydney events scheduled for August and November 2026.
Why become a Smart Installer
The Roadshow also acts as an entry point into the Smart Installer program, which is available to installers at no cost.
The program provides access to free and discounted CPD training, an online learning portal, technical resources and regular updates designed to support compliance and business operations. Members can earn CPD points through mobile-friendly courses and in-person training, including free entry to Roadshow sessions.
Participants are also able to use the Smart Installer badge, which the Smart Energy Council positions as a way for installers to demonstrate training, professionalism and industry connection to customers.
According to the Council, the program is intended to reduce the administrative burden of maintaining CPD while helping installers stay current as standards and expectations continue to change.
Bookings are required for the Newcastle Roadshow, with attendance and Smart Installer membership both offered free of charge.
