2023 Highlights

2023 Symposium

The inaugural Hunter Hydrogen & Energy Symposium (now known as the Hunter New Energy Symposium) was held in Newcastle on the 20-22 February 2023.

From its original inception in 2022, the Symposium was expanded in 2023 to include both hydrogen and energy, acknowledging the energy systems and industries in the future will be significantly different to those of today, and there is a broad range of megatrends accelerating this change. The updated program was designed to navigate the complexity involved, drive conversation toward a pathway to addressing challenges, as well as advance knowledge of the projects, research, technology and investment needed to develop the low emission industries in our region.

Delegates sincerely listening to the speaker

The Hunter region is an energy and innovation powerhouse, with demonstrated ability to diversify, as well as a huge range of industries with a culture of collaboration and the ability to meet technical challenges. We have a mature range of SMEs who can help catalyse knowledge, alongside world-leading researchers doing incredible things.

We sincerely thank all of our speakers, sponsors, and delegates for attending the 2023 Symposium. We hope all of those who attended agree that the Symposium provides a new platform in the Hunter to showcase this competitive advantage, and to share the knowledge and create the connections we need as we move to a clean energy future.
